Wedding Dress shopping is so exciting but can feel a little overwhelming especially with the huge selection of gorgeous Wedding Dresses available. We have wrote this little guide about dress shapes and styles, we really hope this gives you an idea about the different silhouettes available to you.
Ball Gown
This beautiful ‘princess shape’ wedding dress has a fitted bodice with a full skirt. A truly fairytale feeling.
A-Line
These dresses are fitted at the top/body and gradually widen along the bodies natural shape to create the outline of a soft A shape. These styles are easy to wear and flattering on all body types.
Fit and Flare / Trumpet
Fitted through the body with a subtle flare at the mid-thigh area. This shape elongates the body and accentuates the waistline. A fit and flare silhouette is an effortless way to show off an hourglass figure while being able to move freely, this style will make you feel incredible on your Wedding Day.
Mermaid / Fishtail
These dresses are similar to those of a fit and flare style but have a more exaggerated flare from below the knee. This style allows a Bride to show off her curves. The focal point of a mermaid wedding dress is the dramatic skirt and train.
Sheath / Column
Form fitting dresses that follow your bodies natural line from head to toe. This wedding dress shape is perfect for brides who want an effortless gown, as it requires less fabric than other silhouettes.
We really hope this little guide gives you an idea of the style/shapes of wedding dresses you may like the look of or that will suit your body shape. However, nothing beats visiting the boutique and trying the different styles and fabrics and getting a true feel for the dresses. Appointments are available in the boutique from Monday 12th April, please call or email to book your appointment. We look forward to seeing you soon.
